I picked an easy route in a scenic crag above Castelldefels south of Barcelona. This also had twin bolts at the bottom of each route which made it easy to set up the bottom anchor. I used the GriGri as main device, the MicroTrax for rope management, and backup knots for extra safety. All in all it went well, I don't think I made any major misstakes. With some practice, this will open up a lot more crags for solo climbing.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-12015110430071764232023-01-29T16:32:00.020+01:002023-01-30T16:36:37.014+01:00Via Ferrata, Venes Del Rojalons, Jan 29th<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/ucVmYMHtq04" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Back at the K4 Via Ferrata at Venes del Rojalons, about 1.5 hours south of Barcelona.. Apparently the difficulty is “K4”. The tunnel section was really nice and quite cold, but only nice after being under the sun for an hour..</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-63154354164750506392022-04-29T17:41:00.003+02:002022-04-30T17:44:11.816+02:00MTB, Park Del Garraf, April 29th<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/mx9K4ZWxPW4" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Another outing with four hours on great trails in Park del Garraf above Sitges in Catalonia.. Great shop near Park Del Garraf and first time I tried a bike like this.. For sure, really nice to get the "tail wind" up the hills, even if was rather heavy so less playful than a regular bike.. I randomly followed various smaller and larger trails for 3-4 hours, still a nice workout but covering much more distance than normal.. I'll be back soon for sure!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-27380583458027273212021-10-23T18:00:00.002+02:002021-11-09T16:44:08.948+01:00Hiking, Pedraforca, Oct 23rd<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/JQZp3Vnlto4" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Hiking & scrambling up and down the beautiful Pedraforca mountain in northern Catalunya with perfect weather in late October.. The elevation gain from parking was around 900 metres, and large portions of the lap is quite steep and exposed.. I was happy to have brought hiking poles to avoid stumbling and to offload the legs a bit..</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-23069445602757823572021-10-02T14:49:00.001+02:002021-10-05T14:50:59.206+02:00Hiking & Paddling, Congost De Mont-Rebei, October 2nd<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/bAyUMiOUmZU" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Hiking and paddling through the crazy beautiful Congost De Mont-Rebei Canyon at the boarder between Catalunya and Andalucia. The area / hiking trail was closed for 10 months due to a rock fall and re-opened a few weeks ago. It turned out that a sunny early October was perfect with some 21-24 degrees.</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-35089221731597515492021-09-11T15:00:00.014+02:002021-09-16T09:39:42.452+02:00DWS Climbing, Wied iz-Zurrieq, Malta, Sept 11th<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/F58QUasw38g" style="background-image: url(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/F58QUasw38g/hqdefault.jpg);" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Saturday afternoon traverse climbing above the warm water in Wied iz-Zurrieq near the Blue Grotto in Malta. Mostly very easy, with three harder sections that requires a bit more power and precision. If you fall, make sure to push off from the rock as it is very sharp like a cheese grinder. The whole lap usually takes me about 45 minutes.</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-61562262306314788832021-09-08T12:25:00.002+02:002021-09-15T12:27:26.635+02:00Freediving in Caves & Tunnels, Gozo, Sept 8th<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/G3v0NX4iJS8" style="background-image: url(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/G3v0NX4iJS8/hqdefault.jpg);" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Freediving in caves and tunnels with Alex on Gozo, Malta. Sites visited: 1. Inland Sea (Dwerja), 2. Blue Hole (Dwerja), 3. Tunnel outside of the Blue Hole. 4. Xlendi cave, 5. Cathedral Cave. Great conditions, warm water so we skipped wetsuits for the later dives. I tried using the GoPro as a “belly-cam” and it worked out pretty good, and nice to be hands-free while diving.</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36016400.post-92189286700622668722021-09-05T16:00:00.001+02:002021-09-15T12:24:04.222+02:00Freediving, Cirkewwa, Malta, Sept 5th<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/MBJYgKJSR2Y" style="background-image: url(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/MBJYgKJSR2Y/hqdefault.jpg);" width="480"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;">Back in the Big Blue in Malta with some strong diving buddies. We took turns on the line for free immersion and I had two dives to 25 metres with limited effort which bodes well for more freediving next week..</div>Jarlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10207478478931511507noreply@blogger.com0
