Kayak Surfing & Rock Hopping, Torö, 13th of Nov

Mid-November kayak sufing & rock hopping session at Torö Stenstrand with Emil.. The winds that were forecastes went missing but there were still decent old swells to play around in.. We caught some surfs, had a couple of close enounters with rocks, and a few unplanned swims and being thrown up on shore..

Kayak Training Session, Torö, Sweden

Spent a few hours on Sunday at Torö Stenstrand, practicing self-rescue techniques, support strokes, paddle float assisted re-entry, paddle float assisted eskimo rolls etc.. And my lady got to do some trial paddles along the beach as well.. Will do more of this, hoping for warmer water and sunnier weather next time..

Sunday paddle from Torö Stenstrand eastbound past Ankarudden and then north.. Lunch stop on a rock cliff with scenic views over the summery southern archipelago.. The wind had picked up a bit during the day so when I came back along the pebble beach, the waves flushed over myself and the kayak from the side, giving pretty challenging conditions.. But on a sunny hot day like this it was refreshing..

Kayaking, Torö-Landsort, Sweden

A 24 hour long paddle trip in the southern archipelago, starting from Ören on Torö and heading south-east towards Landsort.. Slow pace and a few stops along the way, nice sunny weather on Saturday.. Spent the night in my tent on a little rock island, occationally woken up by distant thunder and some rain showers.. The forced "seal-landings" due to my limited mobility caused a leak in the bow, but it was temporarily fixed with the trusted "silver-tape".. Sunday morning offered grey skies and the calm sea looked like a green porrage with the algae blossoming..

Kayaking, Toro, Late Summer, Sweden, 2005

Late summer kayaking in Torö, south of Stockholm, pretty close to Nynäshamn. Popular surf-spot but with that kayak I had I was more being washed around than cathing any waves.. :-) The water was warm for the season, and I destroyed a nearly new pda-mobile due to a non-watertight watertight pouch..
