Sailing Hobiecat, Castelldefels, April 29th

Taking a Hobiecat for a spin up and down the beach in Castelldefels with Guilherme in a nice breeze with some fun gusts. First time for him on a dinghy and he learned very quickly. Been missing sailing, always nice to get out on the water. 

Lead Rope Solo Climbing, Castelldefels, March 25th

Saturday morning session at Placa dels Bombers where I tried another easy route while testing additional adjustments on the Lead Rope Solo equipment setup and practicing technique.. Lovely views as always and some hiking cardio up and down the mountain..

eMTB, Parc Del Garraf, March 5th

Another round of eMTB riding from Volo Ebikes in Sitges up on the hills of Parc Del Garraf.. I mostly stayed on fast gravel roads, with some shorter sections on easy trails.. Total ride time was not much more than 2 hours, but a beautiful sunny day.. 

Lead Rope Solo Climbing, Castelldefels, Feb 12th

Today I had my first lead solo climbing session after reading up a on suitable equipment and techniques. I picked an easy route in a scenic crag above Castelldefels south of Barcelona. This also had twin bolts at the bottom of each route which made it easy to set up the bottom anchor. I used the GriGri as main device, the MicroTrax for rope management, and backup knots for extra safety. All in all it went well, I don't think I made any major misstakes. With some practice, this will open up a lot more crags for solo climbing.

Via Ferrata, Venes Del Rojalons, Jan 29th

Back at the K4 Via Ferrata at Venes del Rojalons, about 1.5 hours south of Barcelona.. This time with company from Guilherme.. Temperature was just 3-4 degrees at mid-day, but with no wind still nice in the sun. 

eMTB, Parc Del Garraf, Jan 21st

It was a sunny but chilly Saturday morning, with some iced over puddles but otherwise dry., Did some 35 kilometers with an eMTB rented from Volo E-Bikes in Sitges.. This clip is from a fast green trail with a nice flow.. 

Via Ferrata, Cali Del Moli, Oct 30th

I took the pocket rocket on Sunday morning from Playa Castelldefels, driving north to Costa Brava and did the Cala del Molí Via Ferrata.. It was very busy with multiple groups so a lot of waiting, but it was still a fun and very scenic route of moderate difficulty.. I recommend that you bring a cowstail to hang comfortably when there are queues on the steep sections..

Hiking, Puigpedros, Oct 2nd

A Sunday hike up on the 2900 metres Puig Pedros peak in the Pyrenees on the border between Spain and France.. Perfect weather in the beginning of October. It is mostly an easy ascent without very steep sections. Some snow patches higher on the mountain and great views of course..

MTB, Parc del Garraf, Sept 25th

Nice flow on a fast green trail section in Parc del Garraf above Sitges in Catalunya, with some extra tail wind from the eMTB rented at Voló Ebikes..

Another half-day ride in Parc del Garraf with eMTBs from Volo in Sitges.. Founds lots of fast and flowy sections that we linked up nicely with the gravel roads in between..

Back on the Via Ferrata at Venes de Rojalones, and did the full lap again. A fairly physically challenging "K4" route and I especially like the cave tunnel section in this video.

Via Ferrata, Costa Brava, Sept 1st

Tried a section on a scenic fairly easy Via Ferrata on Costa Brava.. We arrived in the early evening so will come back another time and finish it.

Tandem Skydive, Costa Brava, Sept 1st

I went to northern Costa Brava for a tandem skydive with a friend . First time for me since 2005, still a very nice experience and great views..

eMTB, Parc del Garraf, Aug 20th

A Saturday ride in Parc del Garraf with an e-mtb from Volo e-bikes in Sitges.. Some muddy patches after heavy rain a few days earlier, and not as crazy hot as last weeks/months.. I mostly stayed on fast and flowy "green trails", some blue sections and the gravel roads in between. I have a new action camera, the "Insta 360 Go2", I think need to learn the settings and features better for next time..

One lap of the scenic, airy and fairly strenuous via ferrata Venes de Rojalons in Catalunya, Spain. Apparently the difficulty is “K4”. The tunnel section was really nice and quite cold, but only nice after being under the sun for an hour..

Another outing with four hours on great trails in Park del Garraf above Sitges in Catalonia.. I covered around 40km in perfect weather with sun and a light breeze..

Inline Skating, Playa Castelldefels, April 17th

Summer feeling in Playa Castelldefels, heading out on the inline skates for the first time this year.. It's a very nice area for this, with mostly nice asphalt on flat ground.. 

MTB, Park del Garraf, April 15th

I headed over to Sitges and picked up a e-MTB from Volo E-bikes.. Great shop near Park Del Garraf and first time I tried a bike like this.. For sure, really nice to get the "tail wind" up the hills, even if was rather heavy so less playful than a regular bike.. I randomly followed various smaller and larger trails for 3-4 hours, still a nice workout but covering much more distance than normal.. I'll be back soon for sure!

Hiking, Pedraforca, Oct 23rd

Hiking & scrambling up and down the beautiful Pedraforca mountain in northern Catalunya with perfect weather in late October.. The elevation gain from parking was around 900 metres, and large portions of the lap is quite steep and exposed.. I was happy to have brought hiking poles to avoid stumbling and to offload the legs a bit..

Hiking & Paddling, Congost De Mont-Rebei, October 2nd

Hiking and paddling through the crazy beautiful Congost De Mont-Rebei Canyon at the boarder between Catalunya and Andalucia. The area / hiking trail was closed for 10 months due to a rock fall and re-opened a few weeks ago. It turned out that a sunny early October was perfect with some 21-24 degrees.
