Rock Climbing & Bouldering, Kärsön, Aug 26th

Headed to Kärsön with Tommy after work for some easy bouldering, sloap climbing and top roping.. Hoping to get some more Stockholm rock climbing done next few weeks!

Bouldering, Kärsön, Sweden

Went to Kärsön for bouldering, first time there in a long time.. First picture: IT-geek and outdoor-geek! :-) Forgot to print the route chart before the weekend, so I checked online betweek climbs.. Without a spotter (I'm too heavy to land on my GF), no crash pad, and the rock being rather slippery after rain the night before, I stuck to the easier routes and was done some 40 minutes after starting.. The bystander in a tree (a squirrel) probably (correctly) concluded "I'm way better than that odd fellow in a baby-blue hat!"..

Kayaking, Lake Mälaren, Sweden

A half-day Sunday paddle, first outdoor activity since I crashed on my mountainbike on Malta in early June and fractured my thigh bone and pelvis.. Kayaking solo is a bit of a logistical challenge when still walking with the help of one crutch, but a slow and methodical process during preparations worked fine.. I drove to my regular starting point on Kärsö island and was out for around 3-4 hours.. Some wind and a few rain showers, but still very nice getting out on the water again!

Spring session in the forrests on Karson. Nice weather in pre-bug season.. Still with winter tyres on but fun regardless..

Had a couple of boulderings sessions here with brother Jon that autumn, before we switched to indoor climbing when winter arrived. Lots of routes here, on several grades.
