Kayaking, Valletta, March 6th

A 3.5 hour kayak paddle around Valletta and the Three Cities on Saturday morning. Choppy waters and some waves in the areas open to the sea and very calm and comfortable in the bays and inlets. Good fun with Craig & Kamilla plus the guides.

Congost de Mont-Rebei, July 29th 2020

Hiking and kayaking in the amazingly beautiful canyon of Congost de Mont-Rebei. A place where you try to keep walking and paddling, but you can’t help stopping all the time to take in the stunning views.. It was a long drive from Barcelona but definitely worth it..

Kayaking, Castelldefels, July 22nd

Two hours of kayaking on a little rented sit-on-top along the beach in Castelldefels south of Barcelona. Some fun waves from a gentle breeze gave opportunities for small surfs close to shore. Decent workout under a strong sun.

Kayaking, Vällen, November 17th

Sunday paddle on the southern part of Lake Vällen.. Another crisp and blue late autumn day.. Quiet and tranquil when following the western shore southbound, and with some fun waves on the eastern side when the wind picked up to 7-8 m/s and I headed back north..

Kayaking, Håkansskär, Oct 19th-20th

Solo kayaking weekend in the Håkansskären archipelago.. Heading out from Rävsnäs on Saturday morning, with westerly tail winds.. The archipelago is very calm and desolated this time of year, a true wilderness.. The sea and air is cold but with proper gear (drysuit is a must) and close attention to weather forecasts it can be safe and very enjoyable.. I camped on Norrskären, and watched the sun set at 6pm and the moon rise shortly after.. On Sunday morning, the overcast clouds put a dreamy grey blanket on the landscape while I made my way back in a southern-western loop..

Kayak Sailing, Lake Båven, Oct 8th-9th

Late autumn kayak sailing, with fairly warm weather for the season.. Started at Sparreholm on the north-western side of Lake Båven and made my way sailing and paddling south to Fiskarbolsholmarna where I camped for the night. Pretty challenging sailing conditions with a breeze mixed with fairly strong and sudden gusts..

Kayaking, Båven, 5th-6th of Oct

With the Mercury in K2 configuration, we headed to lake Båven, a famous, quite big, wilderness lake in Sörmland.. It has countless inlets, islands, sounds and dwindling areas, and is as popular for kayaking in the summer as for xc-ice skating in the winter.. Now, late in the autumn, it is rather desolated and we enjoyed great paddling in a southern area and camped with tent on a small island..

Kayaking, Bruksskären, 29th of Sept

Bought a new kayak today and after some work at the boatclub I took it for a 2 hour spin around Bruksskären.. It's a Point 65 Mercury, a take-apart kayak which is pretty conveniant. Much faster to assemble than my Narak but still fits inside the car.. Next few days I'll attach mountings for the sailrig and later in the week I'll get the second middle-section so I can use it as a K2 when needed..

Took Friday off work and headed out to go kayaking with Emil.. Sunny pre-winter day, temperature 0-3 Celcius, with some ice the first leg of our lap around Nacka.. Started in Hammarby next to the skislope, heading east over Jarlasjön, and then did a portage over to the sea-side and continued north through Skurusund.. Lunch break on Fjäderholmarna and then back west and south-west through Hammarby Sjöstad.. Total distance around 20 km..

Kayaking, Södermanland, April 21st-22nd

Weekend kayaking trip solo in Södermanlands archipelago.. Headed out on Saturday morning from Aspö, south of Studsvik, grey skies, 2-5 degrees celcius.. Leisurly pace in a loop to west and then south.. Found a scenic camp site on Kittelö, with lagoon-like protection from the waves.. Sunday I continued south-west and rounded Lökholmen and then worked my way back to the starting point against the wind.. Plenty of bird life, very few people, nice start of the season!

Kayaking, Trosa Archipelago, Oct 29th-30th

Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon kayaking trip with Emil.. We started from Trosa and paddled south-east in calm waters under a sunny sky.. Camped on "Godahoppsudden", beautifully located on Askö.. Grey skies and some light rain on Sunday, but still very chilled paddling.. Apart from the short days, it's almost nicer now than in the summer, as the archipelago is quite desolated.. Back in Trosa, we took a little city tour in the creek, and then wrapped up the trip with some well-deserved fast-food..

Kayaking, S:t Annas Archipelago, 5th-7th of Aug

Weekend kayaking in Sankt Annas archipelago with the lady.. First time for me in this area, and it for sure showed a lot of promise.. Friday night we headed north in our rented K2 and camped in a sheltered bay that was heavily infested with ticks.. On Saturday we continued northbound and set up an early camp on an island with a secluded lagoon that was perfect for sunbathing and lazing about.. Sunday morning offered heavy showers with some lightning strikes, but by noon the weather was a bit better so we scrambled back home to shore against the wind and waves..
