Free-Climbing, Wied iz Zurrieq Traverse, May 17th

Back on Malta, enjoying the nice weather with a re-visit to the free-climbing traverse around Wied iz Zurrieq next to the popular Blue Grottos.. It is relatively easy with only 2-3 cruxes but the real challenge is the razor-sharp handholds and being prepared to push-off the rock if you slip to avoid the cheese grinder experience..

Bouldering, Blue Grottos, Malta, 26th of Aug

On Saturday afternoon after lunch, coffee and a brief siesta, Kalle and myself had a go at the very nice bouldering traverse that goes around the bay where boat rides takes off to Blue Grottos.. We were quite impressed by ourselves, as we made it the whole way around (took about 45 minutes) without any unplanned swimming despite disputable form due to a long-lasting social event the night before..

Some afternoon sea-bouldering at Ras il-Bajjada (next to Blue Grotto). A lot of fun although form was crap after a cold, a back injury and a long pause since last climbing session. When you fall, you swim, but that's ok, still 26C in the sea..
