Headed out early in the morning for some ice-skating with my brother Trond.. At dawn we arrived to Svenstavik at the southern tip of lake Storsjön.. Ice conditions were pretty decent but during the heavy wind the night before a lot of ice was brushed away.. Still, we made a lap of around 10 km before being back at the car.. We continued to drive on to lake Rätanssjön, where conditions were a bit worse but still good enough.. Turning point was at the northern tip of theblake where Ljungan river enters.. This second session was also around 10 km.. Hamburger lunch on the way back to Östersund went down like a treat..

Cyclocross, Uppsala, 21st of December
Very warm for the season so all snow and ice has melted away.. Between X-mas related social activities, I headed out Saturday morning in Uppsala for a couple of hours of riding.. 4-5 C, with a slow but steady rain.. I first took a loop south-west in the area around Hammarskog and found some nice trails, gravel roads and muddy fields.. Then I headed east and followed Fyrisån north before heading back home again.. Total distance was about 44 kilometres..

XC-Skating, Lake Tämnaren, Dec 1st
First XC-skating session of the season.. I headed north-west with my brother Jon to Lake Tämnaren, which often freezes first of the classical ice skating lakes in the Stockholm region as it's very shallow.. The conditions were really nice, altough the wind picked up considerably during the morning and at some places we had to make our way around open water or very thin ice.. A great day!

Scuba Diving, Lobos - Fuerteventura, 25th-26th of Nov
A set of 8 videos from 2 days of scuba diving around Lobos island outside of north-eastern Fuerteventura.. Please note that I did not shoot these videos myself, the photographer was a Spanish Divemaster at the Mar y Mas divecenter, I don't have his name unfortunately but he was kind to give me copies.. I can be seen briefly as a diver on 2 of the clips.. Anyways, the 4 dives here were really great, with cool underwater formations such as big coral mushrooms, tunnels and plenty of sealife including Angel Shark, Barracudas, Seabass, Moray.. On the surface it was pretty windy but it didn't matter much at 15-25 meters depth.. Visibility was 30+ meters and water temperature around 20 C..

Scuba Diving, Fuerteventura, 24th-26th of Nov, Surface Videos
A set of videos from the scuba diving Days taken at the surface with my pocket camera.. Showing the fairly windy conditions which produced some decent waves..
Scuba Diving, Fuerteventura, 24th-26th of November
I headed down to Fuerteventura 23rd-27th of November for 3 Days of scuba diving.. On Sunday I went with Abyss Fuerteventura to a small inlet where we saw some angel sharks, one fairly big and one "baby".. Monday and Tuesday I dived with Mar y' Mas from a RIB boat around the islands of Lobos, very nice underwater sceneries, plenty of fish such as Barracudas, Seabass, Angel Shark, Moray.. First a set of still photos taken by Hannah and myself..

Kayaking, Vällen, November 17th
Sunday paddle on the southern part of Lake Vällen.. Another crisp and blue late autumn day.. Quiet and tranquil when following the western shore southbound, and with some fun waves on the eastern side when the wind picked up to 7-8 m/s and I headed back north..

Hiking, Gisslaren, Oct 26th-27th
A 24 hour hiking trip with the lady at Lake Gisslaren in Roslagen, a tranquil wilderness area.. Fairly warm for end of October, we had 10-14 C.. Tried out the new wood stove, made from IKEA's kitchen utensil rack "Ordning" with some legs made by bolts added to aid ventilation. Worked fine for BBQ, boiling water, and baking some scones..

Kayaking, Håkansskär, Oct 19th-20th
Solo kayaking weekend in the Håkansskären archipelago.. Heading out from Rävsnäs on Saturday morning, with westerly tail winds.. The archipelago is very calm and desolated this time of year, a true wilderness.. The sea and air is cold but with proper gear (drysuit is a must) and close attention to weather forecasts it can be safe and very enjoyable.. I camped on Norrskären, and watched the sun set at 6pm and the moon rise shortly after.. On Sunday morning, the overcast clouds put a dreamy grey blanket on the landscape while I made my way back in a southern-western loop..

Kayak Sailing, Lake Båven, Oct 8th-9th
Late autumn kayak sailing, with fairly warm weather for the season.. Started at Sparreholm on the north-western side of Lake Båven and made my way sailing and paddling south to Fiskarbolsholmarna where I camped for the night. Pretty challenging sailing conditions with a breeze mixed with fairly strong and sudden gusts..

Kayaking, Båven, 5th-6th of Oct
With the Mercury in K2 configuration, we headed to lake Båven, a famous, quite big, wilderness lake in Sörmland.. It has countless inlets, islands, sounds and dwindling areas, and is as popular for kayaking in the summer as for xc-ice skating in the winter.. Now, late in the autumn, it is rather desolated and we enjoyed great paddling in a southern area and camped with tent on a small island..

Kayaking, Bruksskären, 29th of Sept
Bought a new kayak today and after some work at the boatclub I took it for a 2 hour spin around Bruksskären.. It's a Point 65 Mercury, a take-apart kayak which is pretty conveniant. Much faster to assemble than my Narak but still fits inside the car.. Next few days I'll attach mountings for the sailrig and later in the week I'll get the second middle-section so I can use it as a K2 when needed..
