Kayaking, Bruksskären, 29th of Sept

Bought a new kayak today and after some work at the boatclub I took it for a 2 hour spin around Bruksskären.. It's a Point 65 Mercury, a take-apart kayak which is pretty conveniant. Much faster to assemble than my Narak but still fits inside the car.. Next few days I'll attach mountings for the sailrig and later in the week I'll get the second middle-section so I can use it as a K2 when needed..

Sailing, Roslagen, Sept. 21st-22nd

Last sailing weekend of the season..  Well into the autumn but again we were lucky with the weather.. We cruised in a clock-wise loop with a lunch-stop along the way up north-west to a protected inlet at Slätön.. Some nice red wine, a great dinner, a couple of movies on the iPad.. Beautiful moonlight that mirrored on the water.. Cloudy skies on Sunday morning, when we headed to Uddhamn to start emptying the boat and de-masting.. It's been a very good sailing summer, now it's soon time for some other activities..

Hiking, Rondane National Park, Norway, Sept 14th-15th

A weekend roadtrip through Norway, entering at Storlien and then south and south-east via Trondheim.. It's a gorgeous country with scenic views everywhere.. In the late Saturday afternoon, we arrived at Rondane National park for a "mini adventure", hiking a short stretch up on a mountain ridge where we put up the tent and stayed for the night.. Lots of rain, fairly windy, but still very nice.. On Sunday morning we packed our backpacks and headed back to the entry point, driving on towards Lillehammer at around 0900..

Daysailing around Singö, Aug 31st

Daysailing with Carin in Roslagen with my StorTriss Mk2, the lap around Singö.. 5-7 m/s most of the day, with some rainshowers, distant thunder and periods of stronger gusts..

 Weekend sailing with the lady in the Roslagen archipelago.. 68 kilometres in light breeze.. Summer is coming to it's end, but we enjoyed great weather..

Sailing, Roslagen, Aug 14th-16th

 

Sailing with the lady in Roslagen, 14th-16th of August.. We headed out Wednesday evening and anchored first night in Brännäset.. Morning after, we continued north to Korsskäret for lunch, and then took a lap out to the open sea and outer archipelago before returning to the same location.. Friday morning was less sunny and stronger wind now from south-west, giving sporty conditions while we tacked back to the harbour..

Sailing, Hargshamn, July 20th

After doing the nightwatch at the boatclub, me and Tommy headed out in the early Saturday morning before 7AM to enjoy a couple of hours sailing heading west towards Hargshamn.. Fairly windy, 8-10 m/s with gusts up towards 13 m/s meant sporty conditions..

Sailing, Rödskäret & Korsskäret, 13th-14th of July

Weekend sailing with the lady up to Rödskäret & Korsskäret.. Winds varying between 4m/s up to 10m/s, got to try out reefing in  main and jib, altough it looked pretty sloppy, need to fine-tune next time.. Afternoon stop at Rödskäret, then sporty sailing to Korsskäret where we found god shelter and enjoyed pork-pannkakes with lingonberry jam for dinner.. During the night the wind shifted from south-west to north-west and brought some rain.. We chilled at anchor until 4pm when the skies cleared up again and then cruised back south to harbour..

Mtb, Hellas, July 9th

 

Evening Mtb ride for a couple of hours in Hellas with Tommy.. Warm and sunny, and it was great fun to get reacquainted with the challenging but fast and flowy rocks on the "Blue Trail".. Got a couple of chain-jumps, might need to service the drive-train soon..

Daysailing, Singöfjärden, July 7th

Daysailing with the lady in the Singö archipelago.. Warmest day of the year, up towards 26 C, with shifting winds from becalmed to 4 m/s sea-breeze, to 6-7 m/s south-western winds.. We first headed east and a bit south in the Väddö channel by motor, then zig-zagged north and east through narrow straights up to the high bridge of Singö where we stopped for lunch.. In the afternoon, we took a lap around Singöfjärden among many other sailboats, before wrapping it up with some lazying about on the harbour jetty..

Sailing, Northern Archipelago, June 29th-30th

Weekend sailing with the lady in the Northern Archipelago, around Singö..  Fair winds, mostly sunny, a great time.. New Honda engine working great and boat feels solid after the renovation and upgrades..

Mtb, Öland, June 20th-23rd

Brought the bike to Byxelkrok where we celebrated the Midsummer weekend and had time to take a couple of rides on the regular trails.. Rocks, sand and flat and fast forrest routes is always relaxing..

City Kayaking Around Södermalm, June 5th

Early evening kayaking in Stockholm with Emil and Oskar.. We started in Hammarby Sjöstad and took the lap around Södermalm anti-clockwise, passing through 2 floodgates along the way from sea-side into Mälaren and back out again..

Sailing, Singöfjärden, June 2nd

 

After loosing a couple of weekends due to poor weather, final boat fixing and skipper certification courses with navigational training etc, finally it was time for daysailing on Singöfjärden with Erik.. It was a sunny day with light winds, and I got to try out the full new set of sails.. We also tried an inventive way to open a bottle, and spent time fiddling with a rather cranky new outboard engine..

Skiing, Jämtlandsfjällen, 27th-30th of April

Headed up in the northern mountains of Jämtland for some social activies.. Mostly sitting still or playing with snowmobiles, but there were also some time for skiing and taking in the beautiful scenery.. Still plenty of winter up there, despite early spring in the rest of Sweden..

Hiking, Utö, 23rd-24th of March

Headed out with the ferry from Årsta Brygga for a 24-hike on Utö.. Sunny days but in the night the temperature dropped to -6C, it's still winter here in Sweden.. Camped at a place called Drumbudden, on the south-eastern part of the island at the edge of a military shooting range area..

XC-Skating, Dalarö, 17th of March

Better make the most of the late winter with cold temperatures, so I went out again this Sunday, this time with Jon and to Dalarö.. We hit the archipelago jackpot straight away, with superb,  clear, and smooth ice.. At times, pretty challenging conditions where some detours and plenty of stops were needed to check the thickness of the surface,  but again everything went well without any swimming.. Basically, as good as it gets..

XC-Skating, Östra Lagnö, 16th of March

A fair bit of hiking on snow-covered ice and some very nice skating.. Heading east from Östra Lagnö, with Ricky, Emil & Mikael.. Eventually we came to pretty decent and finally very nice ice, and Saturday's turning point was Norrören.. Beautiful, sunny day, well worth the extra effort..

XC-Skating, Ingaröfjärden, March 9th

XC-Skating on Ingaröfjärden with Jon.. We headed out from Älgö early in the morning, and by following the south side of the rock islands, we got mostly clear ice despite the snowfalls some weeks back.. At Ramön we met the open sea and had a lunch stop, and then took a loop to Stendörren before heading back, following the south side of Ingarö.. Total distance this sunny day was 41 kilometers..
