Sailing, Roslagen, September 6th-8th

Sunny September sailing with colleagues from work and with the lady.. This time of the year the nights and mornings are fairly chilly, causing fog to roll in from the open sea.. It lifts after some hours of sun though and during the days temperature rose to around 20 C.. We anchored for the night at  a great spot on the north-western side of Fälön, very scenic and good protection from easterly winds..

Sailing, Roslagen, Aug 30th-31st

We have reached end of summer and autumn just around the corner.. We had a great sailing weekend with my Bellona 23 in Roslagen.. Wind was around 4-7 m/s most of the time, perfect for relaxed cruising..

Scuba Diving, Um el Faroud, Aug 24th

A pretty bad video of the Um el Faroud Wreck :-)  Visibility was unusually poor due to winds whipping up sand and sediment, and we didn't make any proper swim-throughs at this dive.. But regardless, one of the better wrecks around Malta, I'be been there 3 or 4 times before and it's always enjoyable..

iSUP Malta - Gnejna Bay-Golden Bay, Aug-10th

Sunday paddle with my Kona Cruiser 12.6 inflatable paddle board.. Started in Gnejna Bay and went back and forth a few times to Golden Bay, with a couple of stops to swim and free-dive among the rocks.. At least 25C in the water and 30C in the air..

Sailing to Kalvudden, 19th-21st of July

With the RayMarine ST1000 tiller pilot installed and the sheets pulled down to the cockpit, time to try some single-handed sailing with the Bellona.. Everything worked great, much safer and more comfortable.. I spent the first night at Brännäset and the second at Kalvudden close to Öregrund.. Mostly sunny with a light breeze..

Great start of the summer holiday, sunny sailing for a couple of days with the lady.. Friday night we stayed in harbour, Saturday we sailed to Tjärsholmen, Sunday to Brännäset, and Monday morning back to Herräng..

Sailing in Roslagen, 4th-6th of July

A three day sailing trip with the old crew from Jämtland.. Hans, Martin, Markus and Daniel dropped in late on Thursday night so we slept in the boat in the harbor.. Friday morning we cast off and sailed and motor-sailed north through the Roslagen archipelago.. A lunch-break at Korsskäret and then we continued up to Tålingen where we anchored for the night.. Saturday offered great sailing conditions with 5-7m/s and we made good spead back south and then turned north-west up in the channel towards Öregrund.. We anchored at Tjärsholmen, shallow waters but no incidents.. On Sunday we motored back towards Herräng and we arrived at the harbor at around 4.30 pm.. In all, a great weekend!

Weekend sailing with the Lady from Herräng west-north-west to the norther side of Värlingsö.. Cold and unstable weather for the season, heavy rain during the night..

Scuba Diving on the P-31 Wreck at Comino

A great Saturday with Dive Systems, taking a nice dive boat to Comino.. First dive was on the Cominetto reef, which was ok but nothing special IMHO.. Lunch & rest break in the busy Blue Lagoon.. Second dive, featured on this video was really nice though, the P-31 wreck is starting to settle in after being scuttled some years back.. Around 31C in the air and 21C in the water, summer is coming on Malta..

Sailing, Brännäset, 6th-7th of June

Headed out after work with the lady for a late start of the Swedish national day celebration.. Motored north-east to Brännäset where we stayed the night in the company of 3 other sailboats.. A lazy Saturday with sun, siesta and a few hours work on the boat, before heading south again under sail in a fresh breeze..

Sailing, Singöfjärden, May 30th-June 1st

First sailing weekend with the new Bellona 23.. On Saturday afternoon we left the harbour in Uddhamn after a couple of hours of work on the boat.. We motored up to the southern lee side of Lambskär and stayed the night.. On Sunday the sun was shining and the wind was blowing with a fresh breeze, so great conditions to try out the new sails and get familiar with the characteristics of the hull..

Free-Climbing, Wied iz Zurrieq Traverse, May 17th

Back on Malta, enjoying the nice weather with a re-visit to the free-climbing traverse around Wied iz Zurrieq next to the popular Blue Grottos.. It is relatively easy with only 2-3 cruxes but the real challenge is the razor-sharp handholds and being prepared to push-off the rock if you slip to avoid the cheese grinder experience..

Transport Voyage with New Sailboat, 10th-11th of May

Time to take the new sailboat home from where it was when I bought it in Österskär, Åkersberga, to my home harbour at the Herrängs Boatclub.. It's a Bellona 23, from the late 70's, nothing fancy but with some renovation and upgrades it should do the job nicely.. The distance of approximately 130 kilometres included the busy Furusund shipping lane, passing Kapellskär harbour, and then through the Väddö channel with two bridge openings.. We motored about 9 hours on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday, almost becalmed the whole time so no sailing.. A bit chilly for the season with 5-9 C mixed with rain and at times, fairly dense fog..

Sunday scuba diving on Gozo, Malta's little sister island.. First dive was on a wreck where we headed down towards 40 meters and had a nice swim-through.. Second dive was in a shallow bay where we had a look into two nice underwater caverns..

Hiking, Kindla Nature Reserve, 1st-2nd of March

Kindla nature reserve, March 1st-2nd 2014.. Made a miss-calculation and assumed the snow would be gone but far from it.. Snowshoes and ski poles would have been great, but I managed to trudge through the deep snow anyways.. Started at Lövåsen on the south side and spent the night up on the Kindla mountain on the northern side.. Calm and beautiful area..
